I bought buildings and contents with my mortgage provider (Leek United). I needed to make a claim when I lost my digital SLR camera and I then found out that my insurance policy was actually with Norwich Union rather than Leek.
Norwich Union were really efficient and helpful. I had to get a police report and then tell them the poice report number. Then I had to send them the original invoice for the camera and memory card. I had it on email so I just forwarded it to them. 3 days later, Jessops vouchers arrived on my doorstep! It was really simple to make the claim and I am so relieved I actually had insurance otherwise I’d have nothing to show for the £900 I’d spent on the camera. Now I am much more careful too!
